About the Technician Commitment Action Plan

This action plan sets out the planned activities agreed to fulfil the University of Sheffield’s 2024 to 2027 Technician Commitment Action Plan.

The University of Sheffield is a founding signatory of The Technician Commitment, hosted by the UK Institute for Technical Skills and Strategy.

The Technician Commitment is a higher education and research initiative, led by a steering board of sector bodies, with support from the Science Council and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. It aims to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians, technologists and skills specialists working in higher education and research, across all disciplines.
